The reason for the while loop is so that it loops through the array, let's say it was real data and an extra integer was added to that array your code wouldn't work. You should use counter as the index instead.

let numbers = [2,8,1,16,4,3,9]
var sum = 0
var counter = 0

// Enter your code below
while counter < numbers.count {
    sum += numbers[counter]
    counter++
}
