var id = "23188xtr"; var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id + lastName; userName = userName.toUpperCase();

this should work ;)

Line 3 userName should equal "23188xtr" but you've made it equal "id" instead. Try coding each line in the console so you can see the actual value of each variable.
