Please please please fix leaderboard

Please, Treehouse, fix the leaderboard. I'm supposed to be in the top 10 for the points of Game Development, and I'm not. There's a person in the top 10 Game Development points with only 2 Game Dev points while I have 2,303 Game Dev points.... Please fix this :)

Hey Alexander,

For technical issues, you'll need to contact the Support Team.

The Community is mostly students like yourself that help each other with the courses coding, quizzes and challenges

I do know that this has been an ongoing issue for a while now, so shoot off an email to the Support Team, and they may be able to provide you with an update.

Congrats on the Game Dev points!

Keep Coding! :) :dizzy:

It says I am all-time #3 in Android, but I actually have only 12 points in that category.

I've never taken any of the Android courses. And the categories where I really do have many points — well you can guess I'm way down those lists.

I encourage you to contact support, as I have multiple times in the past year-plus since this has been broken. Perhaps if enough students complain they may yet assign someone to fix it. it's a real shame for something that could add a bit of fun and extra incentive to be such a bummer instead.

P.S. Let us know what they say. I usually get "The development team is aware of the issue". But ... for a YEAR????

And while we're tagging folks ... 2 months ago Matt Spiel was going to try to get this expedited .. any news, Matt?

Thank you for your support :)

Hi folks,

Thank you for the thread. Support has shared the leaderboard issues over the past while and conveyed your opinions. It is definitely on our developers' radars, but we don't have an ETA for a fix yet. Steven Parker, I definitely agree with you that the scoreboard is a fun motivational tool that needs to be restored. We really appreciate everyone's patience in the matter.

Jay Padzensky,

I do software development and support myself, and I can imagine saying "It is definitely on our developers' radars, but we don't have an ETA for a fix yet." about a minor issue that was discovered a few days ago. But after a year? Even six months would be totally incomprehensible where I work for the most trivial issues. I would most likely be expected to fix an issue of this severity within 24 hours.   :anguished:

I've seen other issues get fixed here within a few days of discovery, so I can only imagine it's all up to someone who prioritizes the outstanding tasks, and doesn't think this one has much value and has consistently placed new tasks at higher priority as they come in for over a year. I just don't understand why something that reflects on the very skills that Treehouse teaches would be considered so insignificant.   :disappointed:

And I also can't imagine this would take much effort to fix, since the actual scores are easy to find other ways on the website.

But thanks for responding, and agreeing that it's something that should be done. Now you just have to convince the person that prioritizes the developer's tasks, whomever that may be. I can only hope you have a little bit of influence with them.

I can only support what Steven said. The points system is an integral part of how students are supposed to stay motivated and the issues has been reported and talked about many times, so it should have priority. By this point it would probably be better not to have a leader board.

Therefore, while I do generally enjoy what Treehouse has to offer, I am sorry, but this is just frustrating.

Maximiliane Quel, Did you also express yourself on the Support page?

Please do, if you haven't already.

P.S. What a cool name you have!

Thanks Steven Parker. My parents thought it would be character building ?. I did contact support about this. More than once actually. I do feel it is equally important to discuss this on the community board though to emphasise that we do care.
