How to prevent poor eye sight and how can i change computer settings(operating system), and some software that will make the user life easier?

13,311 PointsOne piece of software that I use which helps with my eyes is f.lux if you haven't heard of it. It removes some of the blue light that comes from your monitor to make it easier on your eyes, especially at night. It has got to the point where I struggle to look at a monitor that doesn't have this installed because you don't realize how badly it takes a toll on your eyes for extended periods of time.
I guess it isn't really preventing poor eyesight, but increasing the longevity of your eyes in general...

2,435 PointsOh, great! I have f.lux, but you just reminded me of it that i did disable it because i couldn't see any design that i was making an i forgot about it. it definitely helps to rest the eyes! Thanks :)
Anything else you could think of? I'm trying to get lots of ideas.
Im experiencing halo lighting and or rainbows too. And i have dry eyes and all that bad stuff..

13,311 PointsNothing software based comes to mind. The only other thing I can think of is getting some computer glasses, which work in the same way as f.lux but will add a barrier and hopefully reduce the dryness of the eye that you are experiencing. You could always get very serious and go for some eye drops or the like but other than that, I'm out of ideas! :)

2,435 PointsThank you for your answer! Glasses with the barrier is a good idea! I think i saw them before. They are a bit expensive for me, so i might need to save for them. But that's nothing compared to health.
Iv just read it takes minimum of 4 weeks for any changes :O i need to go in woods without any technology. I know what im going to save for summer! Going in woods,in the wild lol But ill think of that too.
