Positioning Exercise

I just created a little quilt-ish project where I positioned a square inside a circle inside a square. The big squares were absolute positioned, thee circles inside them were default (which I guess means they static) and the little squares were relative. That was the only way I could do this and make sure that the pattern stayed together without weird spacing issues.

Is there a better way that this could have been achieved?
