Postgres Network Usage

Hi so I'm using Postgres as a database on a mac and according to the Activity App's Network Page postgres is taking up a lot of room. I'm not working on the project now, so how do I turn it off. Theres nothing it should be storing really because I'm not running any tests rn and the development database should only have like 3 entries?
