Prepare for seque and viewDestinationController - Can someone explain?

Question pertains to this code block from the tutorial -

  • (void)prepareForSegue:(UIStoryboardSegue )segue sender:(id)sender{ if ([segue.identifier isEqual:@"showPlaylistDetail"]) { PlaylistDetailViewController *playlistDetailController = (PlaylistDetailViewController)segue.destinationViewController; playlistDetailController.sequeLabelText = @"Yay, you've pressed the button";

So I understand mostly what is happening but this section is confusing me (i think because its basically the same three words)

PlaylistDetailViewController playlistDetailController = (PlaylistDetailViewController)segue.destinationViewController;

Could someone break down what each piece of this is doing?
