prewritten code is running an error

I keep gettig an error that reads // undefined is not an object (evaluating 'listItems[i].style') This is code that was there for me to complete. What am I missing?

Hi Theresa -

You are very close! The issue is in your listItems variable. Currently, your listItems variable does not actually contain the <li> from the code, but rather the <ul>. You need to traverse the DOM to get the <li> items. In order to fix this, you will want to get the .children of your list items.

let ul = document.getElementById('rainbow');
let listItems = ul.children;
