Problem: changes to style.css not reflected on browser refresh

The only change I can see is that the background color has changed. The changes to my style.css file are not reflected on the web page. The grid coding is also not reflected on the web page.

I have examined the code and it is correct. This is very frustrating! I would appreciate any feedback to make this work.

Here is what I have in my index.html file: <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Smells Like Bakin' Cupcake Company</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css" type="text/css" media="screen"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/grid.css" type="text/css" media="screen"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen"> </head> <body> <div class="container clearfix">

I have all items in one project folder on my desktop. I do not know what else to do.

Thanks!!

Hi Irina:

To troubleshoot whether your new CSS is loading correctly, you can right -click > View Source on the page. Look for the links to your CSS and grid files. You should be able to follow those links and view the changed CSS. If you don't see that changed CSS when you click on the source links, you know it is a linking problem.

What are you seeing on your screen right now? and what changes did yo make from previous to now that you're trying to see reflected?

I also see that on your .btn class, the background image is tecture.png, and I would change that to texture.png.

Thank you, John.

It appears the right css files are in my project folder. What I can't seem to get to work is the font change to Nunito for "Opposites really do attract, especially in our kitchen! We combine unexpected flavors that melt together to create ironically delicious desserts."

Here is the code in my style.css file: body{ font-family: 'Nunito', sans-serif; color: #FAF3BC; background: #420600 url('img/bg-texture.jpg')repeat; }

The navigation spacing isn't working. The navigation words are stacked instead of being spaced out at the top right of page. There are no borders showing despite the fact that I have the code in the style.css file.

Not sure what else to do...

Thanks, John.

Rina

With respect to the grid issue, do I need to do anything other than add the lines of code into the index.html file? I am assuming the code points to the grid.css file, which I have not altered at all.

Thanks!

Rina

Hi Rina:

You should be fine with the grid. I think I see the problem to everything.

In your CSS: .btn:hover { background-color: #4CC4A7;

No ending curly brace. Try that and see if everything works.

OMG...that was it!

I guess I cannot go through these lessons when I am tired! Thanks so much, John.

Gratefully, Rina Andrejev

No problem, Rina. I can't even begin to count how many times I've been stung a missing or extra character.
