problem in set up wordpress with mamp

HI , i have few problem with installation of wordpress with mamp. Currently , i am using windows 10. so the problem is , when i install wordpress in mamp/htdocs , it gives error that there is no .ini file in there. Than i installed it in main MAMP folder instead htdocs. Now it works but need MySql root password for further installation so i put the password from ini file of mysql which was "root" but did not work. Than i tried password from MAMP database i created before and paste it there but still same problem. And i couldn't understand from this video that how to copy that wordpress folder and where need to put in site folder.

so i am really confused what to do and where to install wordpress .

Thanks

There is an older course "How to Install WordPress on Your Computer" that will be retired on 11/30/2017. I found the set up for Windows really straight forward in that video.

XAMPP may have been an easier install since you're using Windows. I would go back and look at the videos where they discuss creating a sites / project folder. This would help with your confuaion about where & how to install WordPress.
