problem using console What Is A Linked List video?

This is the error message I'm getting from console.

treehouse:~/workspace$ python -i linked_list.py

l = LinkedList()
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
NameError: name 'LinkedList' is not defined

For the linked_list.py code I have used the code I typed from the video and a copied version of the Singly Linked List code in the text step following the video. Any help is appreciated. I'm not familiar with Python or the console.
