Problem with navigation controller in 'Implementing Designs for iPhone Project'

I followed the 'Hiding the Navigation Bar' video in the implementing designs for iPhone project. There is an issue, however. Although the nav bar does hide, as of iOS 7, with a navigation controller, the user can swipe to the right from the very left hand side of the screen to return to the previous view controller. When I do this from the login screen, the app crashes. How should I work around this problem?

Daniel Nakonieczny, thanks. The answer near the bottom of the forum string helped: self.navigationController.interactivePopGestureRecognizer.enabled = NO;
