Problem with recording and playing an action (Adobe Illustrator)!

Hi all,

I recorded an action (export to png file), and when I go to "batch" choosing "data set" as origin, the destination folder, and the "data set name" option as the name of the files, the Adobe Illustrator saves all the files one by one, but the files have no extension (the type is "file"). Anyway, I can open the file and viewing the image. And adding ".png" to the name of the file, turns the file into real png file. But I can only do it one by one, and I have a lot of files.

Some advice or solution?

Thanks!

Windows sad to say not as easy to do what you want. I know 3rd party programs, which there more then one will do it and are free, will do the job.

Take look at this

http://www.howtogeek.com/111859/how-to-batch-rename-files-in-windows-4-ways-to-rename-multiple-files/

one of these should work.

What are you using MAC or PC? Mac very easy. Just highlight all and add .png. You'll be prompted are you sure you want to to use that prefix, yes and done.

Thanks, but I'm using a PC. I've already found a solution. I did a .txt file, writing inside "ren *. *.png", and after saving the file as a .bat file. Then you just have to double-click on the file, and all the files turn into .png. The .bat file has to be into the same folder or place where the files with no extension are.

But I have another problem now. When I record an action (this time the action consists in exporting to TIFF), and doing the same as I said before, when the AI is playing the action and saving all the files, everytime I'm prompted with an error. Despite the error, the TIFF files are saved into the folder I choosed previously. But I have to click everytime the "Ok" of the prompt manually.

What can I do?

Thanks!
