2,808 PointsProblem with the emulator in android studio
I have been having issues with android studio for about 3 weeks now. Its frustrating as I'd just finished my first app and wanted to test and develop it.
I am on the latest BETA version 0.8.14 and have all the updates.
The last version was all working fine. After the last update I started having problems with the design file saying there was a problem with the rendering and L library files. When trying to run the emulator the emulator would load but then app wouldn't.I tried commenting out chunks of code and trying again but nothing worked.
I then found 17 package updates in the AVD manager so I downloaded them and the errors went away.
Now I have a problem with the emulator to even start. It just stays as a black screen and does nothing.
I'm not sure if its my old laptop (Acer aspire 5720 laptop about 5 years old) as my friend has the latest update and everything works fine for him. He can't work out whats wrong with my android studio either.
Help! I really don't want to give up but theres not much I can do if I can't get this working!!

2,808 PointsHi I brought a new laptop and the problem went away! Might seem a bit extreme but a new one was well overdue! Thanks for replying to me and the tip for Genymotion. For now, everything seems ok! :)
