Problems with question quiz Wordpress Plugin Settings Page

Since _______ are not a recognized MySQL datatype, WordPress ______ them when storing them when writing to the database.

I suggest "arrays" should be the first answer?! But the second?? I surrender! Tried everything. Maybe my english is getting worse. But the second part of the sentence seems to be a little tricky. I don't get it.

Could anyone give me an advice?

Try serializes as the second answer if I remember right.
