77 PointsProblems with Window 64 bit zipfile
I understand that there are some slight differences, but I definitely not seeing the same function in my setup as you have in the video. I am approaching this course as a brand new person who never coded before and it is a little frustrating when the whole development suite is not configured properly. I am determined to get this working so pleas provide some guidance on how to tweet the setup for windows.

Treehouse TeacherHi David Duncan,
Sorry for your trouble! I've recorded fixes to account for the differences that should be live soon. In the mean time, check the Teacher's Notes on that video page for screenshots that also explain the differences.

77 PointsThank you for your assistance on this matter. I am going to follow the teachers notes and the screen shots. If I may suggest something to your organization. Please read over the instructions yourselves to see if it makes sense to you. If I am not mistaken, you are targeting a non technical savvy market place. Instructions for all that the student has to do must be as clear as possible. I realized that i have to follow the screen shots and make some changes to my setup before I can follow the video. The video wasn't very in specify that those things be done first. It does makes reference to it. What should be said is if you are a windows user please read the teachers note and follow the screenshots. Most of the material that you are presenting to me has been setup using a mac. Not everyone has a mac. I will get one this year, but you don't want to leave the non mac users out in the cold when it comes to the initial critical stage of setting up the programming development. for Android Development. Thank you again for a great product, once instructions are clearly written.

Treehouse TeacherThanks for taking the time to give detailed feedback. I am going to refresh the course soon because of these changes and will take this into account. I am going to add some Windows-specific instructions, though the majority of the course will still be on a Mac as the rest doesn't really depend on the operating system.
Looking back on this, which I recorded some time ago, I definitely see lots of room for improvement for beginners. I think/hope I've gotten better at getting in that beginner mindset, so we'll see! As you go along, hopefully we can help you here in the Forum if you have any other trouble. But once you get past the setup issues I do think it will flow more easily.

77 PointsBen I apologize If I came across as being too critical but I truly believe you have a great product and many nontechnical people can benefit from using your methodology of learning. to fill the numerous IT Job openings that go unfilled because of the amount of time it takes to learn a programming language. I have spoken to many people who want to do programming and the biggest problem is setting up the the tools properly to create the perfect environment to properly compile the program to yield the desired result. This step is crucial. Without this frustration steps in and confidence is lost very quickly. Thanks again.
