Profile Pictures?

It's not a big deal, but I was wondering why my profile picture looks distorted? The photo was misshapen, so I took it down. Is there another way to upload a pic without the weirdness.

One other thing; what is Github? Is this a place to display what we've learned/built/created in Treehouse?

Thanks, Mars

Github is a repository for all types of code and is a universally accepted place to backup your code and make revisions to it. You can follow certain projects other people have created and people can follow your projects. It's a great way to show off what you've built and share it with the world.

As for your profile photo, make sure the avatar you're uploading is a square. A good dimension for it would be 96px by 96px. Make sure you crop it square first as to not distort it with your image editor.

Thanks for your response Steven! Github sounds like a good forum for displaying my code. I don't know why I didn't think to crop my photo before uploading it.

Again, thanks for your help!
