7,369 PointsProgramming in iOS or in Andorid vs the college proposal?
Hi there!
Is it a good idea to go there
"You will study many aspects of how computers work. You will learn to program a computer. The AS has two units: a practical unit in which you will learn to write small application software programs in the computer language Pascal, and a unit in which you will learn the theory of how computers work and how a complete system is developed. The A2 also has two units: one in which you will develop and document a larger software application program in Delphi and one that covers the theory of topics such as operating systems, how data is stored, databases, software engineering etc. Most students find programming a challenge, so all students must enrol on the programming enrichment course in the AS year."
Since i will learn probabily iOS from treehouse . I mean that pascal is it useful? and since i will be learning in iOS field in treehouse, will be this course useful for me ?

I went to college and i will stay there probabily again if i dont find something useful in other colleges and they got python but im not intrested in it . Better learn C or Java insted of python in my opinion even for the first time .

My little 2 cents... if you want to get into programming iOs your not going to need pascal. Your better of learning the basic programming languages (which most introduction classes usually teach) Java or C++. You can get a general introduction of programming with those languages, but even then iOs development is done using Objective C, and the new language Swift.

7,369 PointsOh well , im 17 and i need 1-2 more years in college but since no college has computer science and something useful , i dont see a reason go to college if i go everything in treehouse ;/ I had a intruduction on C etc.. because i did alot of reserch and well i did saw it even in treehouse . I just dont know what to do in college , im looking for useful courses but i just could stay at home and learn from treehouse , that would be the best but i cant :(

5,596 PointsReally no computer science?
Well you can always learn from great tutorials, and just keep on reading and researching online. At first it can be a bit frustrating learning to program, but in my opinion just stick to one language (C, C++, Java) and just learn the ins and outs. I do recommend C because it has a lot of the fundaments in programming (memory management, pointers, basic data types) but there could be a bit of a learning curve so don't give up.
Another thing you should consider is what type of software do you want to develop? Websites, phone, system architectures? This can point you to the language you should move towards, but then again like I said it's never a bad idea to learn the 'classic' programming language of C.

7,369 PointsI was in the web developement and i do know HTML and CSS . For long time i had big drive on websites and finaly i can layout any website . When i started learning PHP, i decided to move on apps.I really engiojed it but i have a high drive for apps, i mean i allways think about apps so i decided now to move on iOS , since it uses C. Like you said C is good and well , with C u can program anything . ATM im mainly intresting to make applications ,any kind of apps lets say flappy bird and a weather app for example . This are different apps . I bought even book on C , i just want to get started as soon as possibile and cant wait .
There was computer science but not enought people applying it , well only 3 of 1.500 studends from college ... and now i have problem because i have no idea on what to go and i have 2 spaces free so i need to choose 2 subjects .
Since you wrote C and Java, if i start on Java for 1-2 months till i get mac , will it be a good idea to switch to C language?
I just thought that if it gonna take me like 6 months learning PHP and then JavaScript plus getting all set up etc on websites , but i really wanted to do apps , it would be better if i get that one year on apps i guess since after a year as i read some post people could do really simple apps .
Since i know how to layout any website like i want . I thought if its possibile is my mum learn wordpress but i make the layout and mum add back end like php etc... with wordpress but not sure about if thats possibile.

5,596 PointsYou don't need a MAC to program in Java, C, C++. But if you want to develop iPhone apps then yes you would need a MAC.
So lets say that you want to develop mobile applications(iphone, android, windows). You can specialize in one and just stick to it. For example since you dont have MAC, just get into android programming. Android uses Java so at the same time you can learn that language. I know it's overwhelming the amount of languages and applications there is out there, but got to start somewhere and its important to stick to it. Reason i say to stick to that sort of development is so that you get comfortable, and learn as much. If you do a little of everything it can be overwhelming and just a bit of mess.

7,369 PointsYes, i did had eclipse because i wanted to learn C but when i went to treehouse, and i want to make iOS Applications , then like you said i need MAC . I will get MAC in cople of months around in 1-2 months so well, im doing again HTML and CSS now just so i learn even more about it . I can fully layout a webpage but i just decided to switch on iOS because from the begining as i discovered apps i wanted to make them .
Did you make any apps or programming on a mobile? and if yes how long did it take you to make a simple app by your self?
bdw , what do you think if i choose a course with graphics etc.. ? since apps need to have god graphics that look nice and i cant do any of it would you sugest that?
