Programming Theory Test

Hi guys, I've recently applied to join a polytechnic ( Information Technology ) in my local area. I have to take a written theory test for Programming and if I pass that, I will be selected for interview. Have anyone done this kind of tests before? Could you please give me some example questions or topics that I could work on? Or maybe books that I could read. Thank You.

just curious when you mean written theory you mean like general computer science questions like big O notation or theory about the specific language. For instance with web more specifically in javascript like what are call backs or call and apply
