Anyone got any project suggestions for practicing front end-end skills that future employers would find interesting

I don't do much web related stuff, but you could do a front page like this. I always imagined this would be what I would make should I become a web designer.

As you scroll down you go from above the surface to down down to the bottom of the ocean. You could feature light things like little fish and a scuba diver at the top, and then sub marines and a giant squid and that weird light fish thing as you go down. You could also put text in the middle of them and have the text get more specific or deeper/more meaningful as you get deeper. Also, change the intensity of the blue a little as you go down so it looks like its getting darker but still with distinguishable layers.

Then, additionally, if you wanted to add a header/footer, you could do fish hooks from fisherman on the boat(no need for the strings, just let them be free), with links to the home page, about you, etc etc that fly with the screen as you scroll down. For a footer, you could do a coral reef or ocean floor and put stuff like contact info, copyright info, or creation dates, etc etc.

I even drew some concept art, just to explain it to you better. http://imgur.com/5V7IiAH The page is two different colors because I took two pictures and edited them together btw. I don't care about you using my idea, I just would like to at least see the result if you do it.

Here's somewhat an example: http://www.codeavengers.com/ They use the layers thing I was talking about. My site would look more like you were descending into the ocean's depths. Some of this may sound a bit challenging, but I guarantee you if you go through with this you'll have a fantastic result.

Also, as you're developing it, if you'd like to speak to me to get feedback and advice on the design, to simulate like you were freelancing or something similar, I'll be ready to answer.

OK will do very cool idea

Sweeeeeeet! Keep me updated as you go please!!! Haha.

well I'mma make a git repo for it so when I get it all set up and start working on it, I'll post a like to the repo so you can see as it comes to life :)

Have you used codepen.io before? Thats a full online thing where you can just share the projects to other people! It's really convenient and really cool!

I like codepen.io ill do that :)

How's the project coming?

I had to put in on pause for now I'm doing some volunteer WP work for the past few days
