JavaScript Introduction to jQuery Events Event Types

project site and launch

When I click to launch workspace it does not pull up the same workspace that the instructor is using in the demo. It only happens with this course. On this lesson she is referencing a site we are working on but it brings up the things she loves, just a basic bulleted list.

This isnt the correct workspace for this video. Additionally, the downloaded code is already complete so we can't really follow along with that.

Jonathan Grieve No. You are wrong. In the beginning of this course she shows us a site for dog adoption. then we launched another workspace where we tinkered with basic jQuery. Now we are supposed to pull up the code for the first site, but the workspace launches the same basic code as the last video - which was already completed, btw, which is terrible for learning.

This whole course has been awful. This is the only time I have ever thought this about any course I have taken on Treehouse.

It would be nice if someone from treehouse went through the course and see what we are seeing. Just because it worked once doesn't mean it's working now.

Anthony Scott Exactly. This is terrible. I am paying 300 dollars a month (CDN to USD) for the techdegree, and I spent my time this afternoon reading things about jQuery from other sources instead of doing treehouse's course - which I need to complete to finish this unit. They need to fix this immediately.

Hmm, having taken this course I have to say I hadn't noticed anything similar. Is there any way you can carry on and catch up with the code that's in the video and add that to your project?

I just pulled up the workspace, as well, and the code is the same code that was in the very first video. There is a ton of code that is in this video. Somethings is very wrong with this course as code is incorrect; workspaces don't match the videos; even on the last video the workspace wasn't the same as the one in the video. It also includes many files that are not in the workspace that I brought up, such as favicon.ico; an Images file folder; post.html; styles.css; terms.html. I don't see any way to recreate all that if the files themselves are missing from the workspace and the videos that include all this information must be included in some other course. You need to review this course. For now I'm going to skip the rest of this, as I've done a jQuery course elsewhere and this is useless in its present form.

The only thing I would say to that is that some courses use one workspace for the entire course. Some use one workspace per section and some per video. Is it not that you need to go back to the first video and follow along video by video, making sure that you save your workspace at least after each video?
