10,793 Pointsprototype challenge in object oriented javascript
Can someone explain to me what am I doing wrong? It seems that I don't understand prototype object in javasript. This is my code in these challenge:
function Monster(name) {
this.name = name;
this.health = 100;
}
Monster.prototype.takeDemage = function (){
this.health--;
}
And these is the code from the beginning of the challenge and the task:
function Monster(name) {
this.name = name;
this.health = 100;
this.takeDamage = function (){
this.health--;
}
}
We're adding a new method to every instance when a Monster is created. Use a prototype instead for the takeDamage method.

28,558 PointsYour understanding of prototypes seems to be fine, the only issue with your code is that you have a typo in the name of the method. You have called it takeDemage instead of takeDamage. If you fix that typo like this:
function Monster(name) {
this.name = name;
this.health = 100;
}
Monster.prototype.takeDamage = function () {
this.health--;
}
Then your code will pass.
