Python or Javascript

I've recently explored the Java courses here on Treehouse and am really excited to learn a new language. I know a few things about HTML and CSS and have worked with Javascript before but I can't decide between Python and Javascript. I don't have anything planned in mind for what I am aiming towards in technology(front-end or back-end) but want to learn a language similar to Java but different in some ways. WHICH SHOULD I GO FOR?

hey Dhruv , Python and javascript both are different languages but if you want to create some interactive webpages with cool behaviour you can go with javascript but if you want to do something with database connectivity or want to create a Dynamic website u can go with python, php, ruby but there is one more choice i.e. node.js which is an open-source, cross-platform runtime environment for developing server-side web applications using javascript...

it's up to you what you want to do in future according to me you must learn basics of all and then decide yourself which is best for you ..!

im hacking away both at the same time :) progress can be slow but its fun
