Python project 4 - How to make the database update while program running?

I seem to have my work log with database running smoothly, only problem is that I can't add an entry and then see it without closing the program. I'm sure this has to do with the connection to the database occurring when the script is first run and then not 'reconnecting' or updating or whatever after adding entries, but I can't find this explicitly addressed anywhere in the peewee docs. Anyone know about this?

I figured it out. It wasn't a database connectivity issue, rather I was retrieving all the records in a variable outside all the functions, rather than retrieving them at the beginning of each search function.
