CSS Sass Basics Improve Your Workflow with Sass Write Nested Selectors

Question: Next, use the & symbol to create the selector .icn-success. Set the color of .icn-success to green

Why does this keep telling me this is incorrect?

style.scss
.banner {
  padding: 1em;
  background-color: lightgrey;
.button {
 font-size: 1.5em
}
.icn {
 font-size: 1.25em;
}
.icn-success & {
color: green;
}
}

Kyle Schoeneman I recommend rewatching the previous video and focusing on 3:30 min mark to 4:14 min.

You use the "&" so you don't have to rewrite text. So in the challenge task example we want to use & so we don't have to rewrite ".icn". When using & we have to nest .icn-success in the .icn like so.

.banner {
  padding: 1em;
  background-color: lightgrey;
  .button {
  font-size: 1.5em
  }
}
.icn {
  font-size: 1.25em;
  &-success {
    color: green;
  }
}

Of course! DRY...thank you, I don't know why my brain was not seeing the solution at that time of day.

Kyle Schoeneman No worries! Sometimes we just need to take a step back and give ourselves a break! Good luck on your learning!
