Question regarding TechDegree Path

Pretty general question here, I am wondering how the "duration" aspect of the tech degree program works. They usually say the program will take 3 - 'x' months to complete and 3 seems to be the universal minimum so far.

What is to stop me from just looking at the curriculum for the tech degree, completing it while on a basic plan, and then switching to td-student to complete the projects and final exam? Obviously, I dont see any inherent obstacles to that strategy, I get to complete most of the material for less than $1/day vs. $6.60/day. I save a lot of money in the process, learn the fundamentals, and then once ready, x-fer over to tech-degree and (ideally) complete all of the projects in under a month and only end up spending $199 for the tech-degree.

Is there anything I'm unaware of that could interfere with that? I understand there is a slack channel, which while I'm sure it will be very helpful at some point. However, learning the fundamentals seems very well covered simply by watching the videos here and practicing the material.

Thanks!

There is a limit to how often you can submit a project. It used to be every 2 weeks (12 projects, every 2 weeks = 24 weeks, about 6 month minimum). Although I believe recently they changed the limit to every week, making the minimum completion time 3 months. This is probably to prevent people from doing what you are planning on doing... But I was in the TechDegree program for a while and it usually took me longer then 1-2 weeks to complete a unit. I also believe there are a few classes in the TechDegree that can't be accessed by basic or pro accounts (but I could be wrong on that one).
