Java Inheritance in Java Inheritance in Java Object Equality

Question to solidify the concept a bit further

So I was thinking about looks-like equality and forgive me because this is probably very simple. But at first i was wondering why we were using just the sound variable to check equality then realized Ben said this is checking if the properties are equal. So it dawned on me.. properties meaning just the variables within the class and not the methods/behavior, right? is is the wrong way or wrapping my head around this concept?

As always, thank you in advance for the help! :)
