Questions and tutorials about installing Linux

I have a macbook pro 2011 13'. I want to install Linux on my computer. What are the best tutorials for this? For dual boot and for total reconstruction? If I download Linux will I never see os x on my computer again?

This should help you out. That guide will teach you how to install Ubuntu alongside OS X in a dual boot, so you can keep both operating systems, and you can use the latest version of Ubuntu with it

Here is a great tutorial on installing a dual boot of Ubuntu Linux and Mac OS X: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MactelSupportTeam/AppleIntelInstallation#Detailed_How-To

I'd clone all of my Mac OS X data first to an external hard drive, in case a problem arises and you want to start again from scratch.
