interface is the part that the users see and interact with. That should be a hint to what the actual answers should be.

Rashi, Sorry, your answer was not helpful in answering the question [IMHO].

For Rodrigo who asked: "Can you specify the section where you found that question?"

Here's the link to the questions: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/specifying-features-of-the-app-2

Of course the 5 questions come up in random order so you may have to go through all 5 to get to the one question with the fill-in-the-blanks.

The video that answers this question is: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/build-a-selfdestructing-message-android-app/starting-the-app/specifying-features-of-the-app

The teacher's notes on that page says:

Terms

Front-end: The "front" or user-facing part of a system that users see and interact with.

Back-end: The "back" or behind-the-scenes part of an app where work is done, data is stored, etc., but in a way that the user cannot see or directly interact with.

The video transcription also has this informative tidbit:

Now another term for this part of the app is called the Back-end 1:13

because it's the part of our whole system that sits in back where the users 1:16

can't see it or interact with it directly. 1:19

They only interact with the app itself, which is known as the Front-end.

............

Of course if you can get the other 4 non fill-in-the-blanks questions correct you don't have to worry about this particular question...

I apologize for any inconvenience, I'll delete my answer but the question was vague.

I do apologize to anyone who read this thread and was misled by my answer.

The front end is, in a way, the interface. I didn't want to answer the question with the correct answer so they could learn from their mistakes. However, your answer is correct and more detailed. I salute you.
