Treehouse TeacherQuotation problems in markdown
Hi everyone! I try to be helpful when I can and answer questions. In the past few days, I've noticed that sometimes when I answer a question and put the code in the markdown, my quotation marks have been getting converted to """ in the markdown. I haven't changed anything. I'm using the same browser and the same keyboard/settings etc. What am I missing here?
Note: This doesn't happen with every answer I post... just occasionally. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I removed it from one of your posts and the quotation marks showed up correctly. Since three ` signs are what creates the formatting Treehouse use, it's likely that it could cause problems to use that sign.

I also noticed this change about a month ago. It started occurring after one of Treehouse's bigger updates. I've tried a few things, but so far, the only way I've found around this is to either not use Markdown when I need quotes or use an actual code block (The 3 backtick one). Hopefully the Devs will revert back to how it was...

Treehouse TeacherThanks for the response Jason Anders ! The problem is that I am using the three backticks. But I suspect that that key is sticking or something. Although to be fair, I can't see the extra ones when I'm typing. Odd that I can see a stray bracket or a missing semicolon, but a stray backtick is throwing me for a loop! :)

Treehouse TeacherThank you for the response! However given that I use a Swedish keyboard it's not at least immediately adjacent to the enter key (which you know) :). I'm guessing the thing is sticking! Stupid keyboard. I'll either fix the key or get the thing changed out.

Treehouse Moderator 145,858 PointsHey Jacob,
I still have my quotes converted to entities inside my single backtick markdown. The markdown
shows fine
until I try toput "something" in qutoes
.It's all good when I use blocks thought:
I can use "doubles" or 'singles' with no issue
Am I doing something wrong?

29,118 PointsAdmittedly I simply rushed to a conclusion, and the ยด may not be the villain, it just seemed liked it on my end. Jennifer & Jason, if the problem persists, and it's not due to any odd sign appearing at the end of a line or some such, then you should definitely send an email to help@teamtreehouse.com :) They're always happy to get constructive feedback :)
