Rails doesn't install OS X 10.8.2

Hi I'm going through the tutorial for a Rails application but I got stuck while checking for rails. Terminal answers to rails --help or --version that rails is not installed. When attempting to install ruby version 1.9.3 it fails as well but jruby went through. Any help appreciated.

Hi Jose, have you installed using RailsInstaller?

I had the same issue. basically just rebooted my system each time it failed and tried again. took 3 times, then everything installed properly.
