React.createRef current value is always null?

When following the code line for line in the video, this.playerInput.current.value is always returning a null value and therefore not triggering the addPlayer method.

Without seeing the code I wouldnt be able to help much but if this.playerInput.current.value is returning null at all times I would check to make sure the ref on the input in the form is correctly spelled or formated. Just a thought. Hopefully you got it worked out. Have a great day!
