Really awesome essential WordPress plugins library!

I was having a horrible time trying to decide if I need to build a CMS from scratch or if I can use WordPress.

My main problems with WordPress were not the plugins or writing in WordPress but the way the admin UI is setup. If you start having hundreds of bits of content, it's going to be a nightmare to manage. Kind of circumvents the point of using a CMS, if you can't manage your content how you want!

So, having spent hours now in WordPress and with this dilemma this week, I've found some new plugins that will help everyone and increases the power of WordPress infinitely again.

I am going to add to this list as I find new plugins and useful bits of information. Consider it a resource here on Treehouse for all of us using WordPress and are drowning in the sea of available plugins.

Admin Area Content Management

http://wordpress.org/plugins/cms-tree-page-view/ - Puts all content in a simple to navigate tree view like the sidebar in a Windows Explorer. Price: Free

http://wordpress.org/plugins/admin-menu-editor/ - Tidies up the admin sidebar. Add, remove, hide, reorder your sidebar to your liking. Price: Free

http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-editor/screenshots/ - Turns the "text" tab of editable areas in pages, posts, plugins and anywhere that has WYSIWYG editor with text tab into a proper text editor with highlighting and line numbers! Price: Free

Front End Posting

http://wordpress.org/plugins/user-submitted-posts/ - A really awesome plugin that has multiple ways of being implemented into your theme. Very easy to customize as well. Price: Free

I will add to the list with time, I have a tonne of good plugins I'll add to the list over the weekend.

If you have a plugin that has changed your life....post it up and we can start a proper library of plugins.

Thanks for sharing these. I'm personally not ready to dive into WordPress themes just yet, but I've dabbled in them and remember the UI not being so user-friendly. Links bookmarked--thanks again.
