Treehouse Moderator 68,390 PointsRecent Treehouse website updates (Thurs 3/24?) now cause Firefox page load errors and Challenge Communication Errors.
I've been using Firefox for over a year with Treehouse. Some change to the page contents now cause Firefox to spin endlessly while loading the page. This seems to cause challenges to fail everytime due to a "communication error". Chrome does not have this issue.
I am running Firefox 45.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. This same issue happens when running Firefox on WIndows 8. I have not tried on MAC.
Sorry, but "switch to chrome" is not a viable "fix".

Treehouse TeacherI disagree about the Chrome not having this issue part. My challenges routinely fail with a communication error. I only use Chrome when using Treehouse. I click on the X to dismiss the popup window and recheck my code. Then it passes (usually!) What I can tell you is that this is not limited to Firefox.

Treehouse Moderator 68,390 PointsHi Jennifer, Thanks for the feedback. The problem I see is beyond just intermittent challenge communication issues. While Chrome may sometimes report a communication error in the challenges, it will eventually pass. This is not the current case with Firefox where every code challenge hangs and other pages don't load completely.
PROTIP: if you get the "Oops. Communication Error" message, Try not using the "Restart Challenge" button. Instead hit the "X" to close the pop up, the resubmitting your code. This sometimes saves you from having to reenter code.

Treehouse TeacherChris Freeman that's interesting... and highly annoying. Hope they get this sorted out soon! I see you're using Mac OS X of some description. Maybe I should try Firefox on my Windows system and see if it fails everytime as well. Will let you know. It'd be at least interesting to know if it happens on all versions of Firefox.

Treehouse Moderator 68,390 PointsI have tried with same results on Windows and my current setup Ubuntu/Linux. Good point. I will add this data to my OP.
I don't have a MAC. Curious how you came to that conclusion.

Treehouse TeacherI'd like to point out that I just successfully completed a code challenge on Windows 10 using Firefox 45.0.1 with no communication error.

Treehouse TeacherChris Freeman Because I'm half asleep? I doubt I'm in the same time zone as you. And yes, on second look it is Ubuntu. But my mind went directly to "!Windows" :)
