Recommendation on server side language

HI,

So I came up with a discussion yesterday and im wondering, what shall I learn on treehouse? what courses?

Im interested in facebook like website. I started to learn PHP and doing news feed , just beginning , with the help of Randy in the first part of the web application .

So I kow that JS is used to take the heavy stuff and PHP for like secure data right?

So what should I learn here on treehouse? currently im doing " Builidng Simple Aplication ' With randy.

I know the programming basics, and the JS basics as well as PHP basics .

But anyone would give and advice so I can put the newsfeed etc.. log in etc.. like fb?

I just want to move quickly and eliminate the unnecessary stuff at the moment meaning drawing with JS etc.. if you know what I mean .

I think your understanding of what javascript is and does might be a littl off, but PHP is your server side scripting language. I prefer rails myself.
