Recording Speed

I just had a quick question about the speed multiplier on each of the videos. I usually watch at about 1.5x because that seems most natural but when I take it down to 1x (which should be normal speed) it sounds very strange.

I was wondering at what speeds is the actual recording speed of the videos when they are being made? Because to me, at the 1x speed, it seems like the teachers are all talking very slowly. Or is this what is actually meant to happen just to make it easier to understand?

I was just curious because at 1x it doesn't sound natural at all.

Thanks.

I have noticed this too, I watch everything at 1.25-1.5x because 1x sounds bizarre. My gut tells me that they slow them down on purpose for increased clarity for beginners and english as a second language speakers.
