Redesign: A Small Suggestion

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I REALLY like the new design of the site! The library is much more organized and its a lot faster to get to the video you're looking for. I also love the way your progress is featured prominently on the home page. It really emphasizes the impact of working through projects and deep dives! That being said, I think there's one thing that could be better. While it's really easy to gauge your progress on a module you haven't finished yet, once you finish it there's no quick way to tell that you've completed that module. Unless I'm missing something, you have to click into the module to see whether you've completed it or not. I think a small check-mark or something similar on your completed modules in the library would make it much easier and faster to differentiate at-a-glance what you've completed and what you haven't started. Beyond that though, I'm loving the new presentation. Great work, everybody!

Great point Jett! I'm copying in Tyson Rosage and Daniel Lewis so they can address that.

+1.

Btw... Isn't the link on "Markdown Cheetsheet." targeting the self forum post? It was supposed to go to the Markdown sintax or something I think...

If you are wondering... the link is right under the input form when you are writting a post :)

I'm seeing a "Complete" above a Deep Dive I completed after the new design. But anything I completed prior to the new design update doesn't indicate whether its been completed or not unless I click into it.

It would be extremely helpful to have the same "Complete" status for everything completed prior to redesign.

Hey Jett Miller, this is great feedback. Thank you. Let us know if there is anything else you'd like to see while using the site. Thanks for being a Treehouse student!

I'd like to add a small bit of constructive feedback. I do not like the Markdown Cheatsheet in a modal. It's not so bad for me know, but when I was really new to typing in the forum, I appreciated having the cheatsheet open while being able to type. I can't do that with the modal now. Also, unless intended to be a play on words, you spelled "cheat" with two ee's.

Other than that I'm digging the more app like feel. :)

Lol this was stupid... I was thinking that it was supposed to be an external link or a link to a page so I was just opening in a new window returing to the same post. Only now I noticed it was a script :P

Well it would be nice to be separated but I think it's really nice this way as well since the user can active and close it everytime he needs untill he memorized it without leaving the page. It's nice :)

It use to be it just slide down below the comment box, so you could have it open and type, or close if needed. Just a little thing, not a biggie though. :)

I found out I am missing something from the old design. When your in a project series, I enjoyed being able to see while I was on a video, how many more videos and tests were ahead for that particular chapter. That info use to be below the video you were currently watching. It appears there might be some room on the sidebar for that - and I'd love to see that come back.

Thanks guys
