Regarding the extra credit projects, is there a way to submit the work for points or is it just an "on your own" task?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert,

They are more of a "on your own" kind of tasks, prove to yourself that you have learned something and also challenge you to accomplish something that wasn't necessarily discussed in the course.

There are cases where you will receive all the assets for an app and be asked to submit it in the forums if you manage to make it work, like in the Build a Game with SpriteKit project.
