Related Post Types and Querying values from both

Good day

This is a tricky one. I'm currently building a site and I need to setup something like this:

Post Type - Event Post Type - Player Taxonomy - Event Type

I need to have Event and Player related, and I also need to be able to query by Date and Event Type. On this queried page, all the Players (Post Type) that participated in the event on the selected date with the selected Event Type (Taxonomy) needs to appear.

Is this possible at all? Will a plugin like Buddypress simplify this perhaps? Perhaps there's something similar to Drupal Views?

Thanks! Jaco
