echo "The lead character from 2001: A Space Odyssey is named" . $fullName . ;

needs a space, and shouldn't have the final . symbol

echo "The lead character from 2001: A Space Odyssey is named " . $fullName;

it accepts the following:

<?php
$title = "Dr.";
$firstName = "David";
$lastName = "Bowman";
$fullName ="$title $firstName $lastName";

echo "The lead character from 2001: A Space Odyssey is named " . $fullName. "!" ;
?>

nb: this is the solution to task 4.

You have $fullName structured wrong:

<?php $title = "Dr."; $firstName = "David"; $lastName = "Bowman"; //concatenate into fullName var with spaces: $fullName = $title . " " . $firstName . " " . $lastName;

echo "The lead character from 2001: A Space Odyssey is named " . $fullName; ?>
