So in the Ruby on Rails track the first installing Ruby environment badge basically walks you through everything for installing Ruby and Rails and bundler and a few gems. And THEN in the first actual Ruby video it goes over some of that again.
For those of us who already had say RVM and bundler and Rails and Git etc etc on our computer, do we need to watch this to get the points from the courses? Or can I skip some of this stuff that doesn't benefit me?

7,625 PointsGreat question, Scott! You don't actually have to watch videos to earn points or badges. It's highly recommended, but if you feel that you know something, you can always skip around. Quizzes and code challenges, though, are required for earning points and badges.

I have been doing the Rails track and I've got a decent amount of background in ruby already and was bored ( not because the videos were boring :-P ) out of my mind with the basic part of the track outlining modules and different datatypes in Ruby. But, I'm competitive and wanted the points :-P
