reply to comments

Adding '<?php comments_template(); ?>' to the single.php allows making comments on the blog page, however the reply to comment does not work or is not there. Do you have to create a comments.php file for this to work? If so which course does teamtreehouse offer for this?

Adding comments_template(); alone is sufficient for both posting and replying to comments.
