Resizing vertical and horizontal images in Photoshop to fit with the responsive layout.

Nick says that the site works best with images that are 1024 x 768. I resized my images in Photoshop but the problem is that I am using three vertical images and two horizontal images. It looks fine on the desktop layout, because all three vertical images can be laid out in a row on the top column, but the problem comes in when the browser is resized for mobile sizes. Then the sizes do not match up because it becomes two columns. I'm new to Photoshop, but is there a way to make a horizontal and vertical photo exactly the same size so I don't have this layout problem?

You either have to have landscape photos or portraits you can't have both. Select a theme and shoot for that. Personally I would go for landscape with Nick's projects
