RESOLVED - Difference between Fundamentals and Basics courses?

RESOLVED - Hi Just unsure whether to start with JavaScript Basics or JavaScript Fundamentals, same in other courses, etc.

Hi Michele,

Well, JavaScript Basics is the latest new better than old JavaScript Fundamentals, what I can recommend you to start with JavaScript Basics.

I'm not sure about all of the subject matters, but I know with the JavaScript ones, the Basics course is quite a bit newer. It is also, in my entirely personal opinion, easier to grasp on to the concepts being taught.

For myself, the quizzes and code challenges are really well laid out in the Basics course to have me consistently repeating what I just learned and followed along with, which has helped a lot with retention. The course also includes challenge videos where the teacher gives you an assignment to work on for yourself in one video, then he goes through the way he solved it in the next video. This is great because it gives me a chance to think for myself about what I just learned and a chance to see if I can apply it without just following the teacher's steps. Usually when I watch the following video that shows his solution to the problem, it is executed in a bit of a different way than I did so I learn from his process as well as my own.

Thanks for such a detailed response Amber! Yes I started the Basics course and enjoying it so far but I wasn't sure if I was missing something. -Michele
