Responsive Layouts and Flexbox Layout not part of FEWD Techdegree?

Why would courses like Responsive Layouts and Flexbox Layout not be part of the FEWD Techdegree? They're part of the FEWD track, but I'm having trouble figuring out where similar material might be covered in the Techdegree. Both courses seem to cover material that is crucial to responsive design.

Hi Joe Dodd

The concepts in the Responsive Layouts course are covered in a few other CSS courses within the Techdegree. Flexbox layout does appear a bit later in the Techdegree in Unit 5. We feel that understanding float based layouts are an important first step to becoming a front end web developer. We bring Flexbox in a bit later, so that students can better understand how it works in comparison to float-based layouts.

Thanks for the feedback. We are always looking to improve our curriculum (including it's order in the Techdegree) so your feedback is really helpful.

Hey Dave McFarland

Thanks so much for the reply. I completely overlooked flexbox in Unit 5! I totally understand how the course makes sense, structured the way it is. And so far, I'm really loving the Techdegree. I actually switched to Treehouse from another similar website and Treehouse has been much more conducive to my learning so far.

Thanks again.
