Responsive Navigation Problem

I'm currently working on a project and just started coding. I have just created the Mobile page header which includes a responsive navigation.

When I click on the .handle the ul is not revealed. I've checked my jQuery and CSS and can't seem to figure it out.

Here's a link to the CodePen

Thank's in advance.

I think the main issue is that there is a space between the ul and .showing. For it to work the showing class needs to be attributed to the ul. Like so:

header.main-header ul.showing {
  max-height: 20em;
}
