Try this it might work.

var id = "23188xtr"; var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + '#' + lastName.toUpperCase();

When you get this message, it is a reflection on how the Team Treehouse error checker works. It doesn't mean that your latest attempt messed up Task 1. Just fix the code for the current task.
