Ribbit - After the timeout and view 'pops', the screen is partially black

I don't know how to explain it better so here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/b09DpKC

This started happening after I finished the image showing part of the app (including the NSTimer). Now it is happening here and there throughout the app.
