Ribbit- Is anyone having compatibility issues??

So I completed both the ribbit projects (implementation and design) in android, tested it on my 2012 nexus 7(V.4.4) and shared it with a few friends and all of us have experienced quirks. Mine does not show progress bars at all. In one friend's phone, the progress bar (spinner) wouldn't stop spinning and would crash from time to time. But another friend, who is running android 4.0.3 or something like that did not have the send button appear when he selected recipients which made the app useless.

I was wondering if other people who have completed the app are facing similar problems as this is pretty disheartening :/
