rm -rk .git does not work for me and git doesnt see my project

rm -rk .git does not work for me in Windows 10 PowerShell. But if I do it via file explorer, Git doesn't recognize that I have a project.

For Windows:

rm -force .git

Then make sure you do a git init in your project's root folder so Git recognizes your GitHub project.
